Happy New Year

As the new year begins it is time to clean our “mental house” and get rid of thoughts, things and situations that do not add to our peace and well being. If something is in your life that is not nourishing, positive, loving and supportive, get rid of it!! Follow your passion and open your mind, heart and soul. Close the last chapter of the 2011 book and begin again with a new book and chapter in 2012. Nothing in your life is changing unless you make the effort and take the time to alter what no longer is serving you. Rise above the small stuff and remember , most of what we obsess about is small stuff.

Each year we are afforded the luxury of mentally starting over. Most of what we worry about never occurs so that is one area, worrying, that could be addressed. Worrying is like praying for failure. Who would do that? Begin this year with gratitude, grace and forgiveness. Forgive yourself first because for some reason we are always harder on ourselves. Then forgive everyone else for whatever you think they might have done. In actuality we are still as God created us…we just seem to forget this. Whatever you want inyour life in the new year remember to give it first…that is how we prime the pump.

May your new year be filled with love,miracles,blessings and joy. It is a wonderful opportunity to begin again with a renewed sense of spirit.

A BROKEN HEART IS AN OPEN HEART

Often when we speak of a “broken heart” we don’t take into consideration that it is also broken open. When we are open there are a multitude of possibilities available. When we are hurt we are supposed to open even more, not shut down. Actually that is one of the greatest lessons involving our hearts. Keep your heart open no matter what the circumstances. Closing down only affects us-no one else. So the next time you are tempted to harden your heart to not feel, please re-think it. Instead just open more. You will be amazed at how much easier it is and how much energy you save.

NO ONE GETS OUT OF HERE ALIVE

This can be a very sobering thought when you think about it. It is a unifying one to say the least. The absolute similarity is each one of us will eventually die. No one gets out of here alive. In-between then and now there will hopefully be a lot of time. Will we show up loving and open? Will we be present or in the imagined future or the non existent past? Are we a help or a hindrance? Will we even show up? These are questions we ask ourselves. Now is the only time there is. Everything else is a movie in your mind. Creative thinking is one thing, but letting our minds wander to things that no longer serve us is another. Since no one is getting out of here alive, how will you use the time that is left?

WHAT WE RESIST PERSISTS

A thought never leaves its source. The same thought, whether conscious or unconscious, will play ping pong in our head until we stop it. When we take the time to go within, face ourselves and our thoughts they stop. The light of our awareness helps our ego let go of what no longer serves us.

We must remain positive. Remember, a miracle is a shift in our perception. Nothing in the outside world changes, just our perception. There is no order of difficulty in miracles. They are all the same. Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. Ask for a miracle.

IF YOU WERE HAPPY, YOUR EGO WOULD BE OUT OF WORK

Your ego is not interested in you being happy. It exists to remind you that you are not enough and neither is anyone else. It loves to shred others and bring the pieces to your feet. Becoming aware of the nagging voice in our head is the first step. After you get your ego’s attention, tell it you are in charge. Thank it for its concern and simply tell it to “take a hike”.

Love Makes the World Go Round

It is imperative that we love ourselves unconditionally. We can only put out what we have in us. Loving begins at home, right here in our body. “Love thy neighbor as thyself”. We often forget the words “as thyself”. We can’t love anyone else until we feel it inside us. Self love is the most important gift to give ourselves, because that is what we will give to others in return.
